The Global Animal Aid Grant
Apply for a grant and become part of a global network of compassion.
The Global Animal Aid Grant supports shelters, rescue teams, and community initiatives that improve the lives of animals across the world.
Applications are open year-round, and funding rounds are awarded in Spring and Fall.
Whether you’re rebuilding a shelter, running a rescue mission, or launching an educational program — we want to hear your idea.
Together, we can turn compassion into action and create lasting change for animals everywhere.

We award grants dedicated to protecting and improving the lives of animals in shelters, rescue centers, and communities in need. Every project we support brings compassion, safety, and hope to those who have no voice of their own.
Apply Now →How Do I Apply?
Our grant application process is simple and transparent. At Global Animal Aid, we work hand-in-hand with shelters, rescue organizations, and community groups to turn compassion into real impact. Each project we fund is chosen for its potential to create lasting change for animals in need — and to inspire others to take action in their own communities. We evaluate applications based on clarity of purpose, sustainability, and measurable outcomes that improve animal welfare and strengthen rescue networks.
Step 1 Develop your idea and explain why it matters. Define how your project will improve animal welfare, rescue operations, or shelter capacity.
Step 2 Review our previous projects and check the Granting FAQs. Gather all required documents and supporting information before submitting.
Step 3 Complete the online application form before the submission deadline. Be clear, specific, and include an estimated budget and timeline.
Step 4 Wait for our response. Our team reviews all applications carefully and will contact you with feedback or next steps.

Granting FAQs
Not sure if your idea aligns with Global Animal Aid?
If you have a project that can make a real difference for animals — we’d love to hear about it.
Before applying, take a look at our past projects and explore the Global Animal Aid Granting FAQs to understand our focus areas, selection process, and funding priorities.
Together, we can bring more compassion and safety to animals who need it most.

Animal shelters, rescue organizations, registered non-profits, community groups, and individual rescuers actively involved in helping animals in need are welcome to apply.
Veterinary clinics, educational initiatives, and local governments working on humane programs such as spay/neuter, rehabilitation, or public awareness projects are also eligible.
Applicants can be based in USA, Canada, Europe, the UK, or Ukraine, and in exceptional cases, projects from other regions may be considered if they align with our mission.
Global Animal Aid provides funding for initiatives that directly improve the welfare, safety, and quality of life of animals in need.
We support:
- Shelter renovation or expansion projects that increase capacity or improve living conditions.
- Rescue and emergency missions that save animals from crisis zones or neglect.
- Veterinary care and rehabilitation programs, including mobile clinics and sterilization campaigns.
- Education and awareness initiatives that promote responsible ownership and humane treatment.
- Community-based programs that reduce animal suffering and strengthen local rescue networks.
Projects must demonstrate long-term impact, accountability, and measurable results. Applications focused on personal pet care or commercial animal breeding are not eligible for funding.
Grant amounts typically range from $2,000 to $50,000 EUR, depending on the scale and urgency of the project.
Smaller grants are ideal for short-term needs such as emergency medical treatment, food supplies, or minor shelter repairs. Larger grants may be awarded for infrastructure improvements, rescue operations, or long-term programs with measurable community impact.
Future funding levels may increase as our donor network expands and additional contributions are received.
Yes. Once the application window has closed, every complete submission will be carefully reviewed by the Global Animal Aid grants committee.
Applicants will be notified within 4 weeks after the end of each grant cycle to confirm whether their project has been selected for further consideration.
Those invited to the final review round will be asked to provide a detailed project plan, budget, and one letter of community or partner support. All additional materials must be submitted within 2 weeks of receiving the invitation.
Even if your project is not selected, we encourage you to apply again — many successful applicants were funded in later rounds after refining their proposals.
